The Developmental Disabilities Children's Services Specialist is responsible for the Department's programs that serve children and families by providing information and technical assistance regarding eligibility for these programs. The Developmental Disabilities Children's Services Specialist:
- Provides technical assistance to agencies regarding eligibility
- Determines agency allocations for developmental disability programs that serve children and families
- Oversees the Bridge Program: Care Coordination, Family Managed Respite (FMR), and Flexible Family Funding (FFF) (Flexible Family Funding is also available for adults.)
- Collaborates with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) regarding children with developmental disabilities who are in custody and who may be eligible for Home and Community Based Services.
- Is the Department's liaison with the Agency of Human Services, Integrating Family Services (IFS) Initiative.
- Is the Department's representative on the Agency of Human Services Case Review Committee, State Interagency Team (SIT).
