Act 248 Info
The focus of the Public Safety Program is to keep the community and past victims safe while providing treatment and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities who pose a risk to public safety. The Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DDSD) coordinates statewide supports for offenders with developmental disabilities through a variety of activities. Public Safety Funding Committee
The Public Safety Funding Committee assists in the management of Public Safety Funding allocated by the Legislature to specifically address public safety issues posed by adults with developmental disabilities. All funding for public safety needs that meet the criteria outlined in the State System of Care Plan for Developmental Disabilities Services public funding criteria shall come from the public safety fund.
